Hotel planned

October 14, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

The natural gas industry has shown signs of slowing down in the local area, but economic development is continuing. Most recently, Cambria Suites announced plans to construct a hotel at Fairfield Crossing near Montoursville.

The 121-suite hotel is being developed by Welteroth Property Group, with a scheduled opening for sometime late in 2012.

According to a news release, Cambria Suites has 19 hotels.

In addition to the opening of the Fairfield Crossing property, Cambria plans on introducing hotels in Miami and White Plains, N.Y. next year.

Other Cambria hotels in the state can be found in Pittsburgh and Washington.

"Cambria Suites is experiencing strong momentum and growth," said company vice president Michael Murphy. "We are pleased to be working with two of the best developers in the industry - Sun Development & Management Corp. and Welteroth Property Group - to welcome Cambria Suites to great markets across the country."

Welteroth officials were not available for comment for this story.

Cambria Suites hotels are designed to appeal to travelers "who seek contemporary, upscale accommodations at a great value."

The hotels offer spacious suites and amenities not often found in typical hotels.

Company officials were not available for further comment.
