County
Lycoming County commissioners voted 3-0 to accept an agreement with the Montour County Prison to house Lycoming County inmates as needed at a rate of $60 per day. Commissioners also approved an agreement with Superior Plus Energy Services to provide fuel products at a fluctuating pricing scale. Voting in favor of both measures were Jeff C. Wheeland, Ernie Larson, and Tony R. Mussare
Municipal
South Williamsport Borough Council voted 6-2 to implement stronger enforcement efforts for those who have not had their sewer laterals inspected. Those voting in favor were J. Bernard Schelb, Dan Cupp, Henry Frey Jr., Benjamin E. Landon, Ed Weinhoffer and Richard D. Harris Jr. Anthony Mussare and Robert
Cronin voted no. Council also voted to hire two part-time employees to work as receptionists in the police department.
Jersey Shore Borough Council voted 4-2 to sell borough property at 1208 Locust St. Voting yes were Deborah Colocino, Mary Greene, Marguerite Dyroff, and Janet Barnhart. Voting no were Sean Simcox and Wade Snyder.
Old Lycoming supervisors unanimously approved two subdivisions, one for John Paulhamus at 106 Bennet Drive and one for Keypad Properties at 1701 Princeton Avenue. Voting were Linda Mazzullo, John Eck, and Janet C. Hall.
By a vote of 3-1, Montoursville Borough Council appointed Eugene Boyles to fill a vacant council seat. He replaces Gary Marshall. Voting yes were Robert Brobson, Kim DiRocco and Ronald Shearer. Voting no was Dennis Holt. Mark Tillson was absent.
By a 6-0 vote, Montgomery Borough Council approved a solid waste contract with Lycoming County landfill. Voting were L. Whitow Wertz, Rick Williams, James McCarty, John Magyar II, Rodney Metzger and Donald Feaster. President Lynn Crist was absent.
