Martha Ann Winters, 83, of Jersey Shore, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center where she was surrounded by her family.
She was born in Blanchard on June 8, 1929, a daughter of Allen and Pauline Glossner Pletcher. She was married to William O. Winters and he passed Aug. 22, 1988. For over 30 years, she was an inspector and packer for Tetley Tea of Williamsport. Earlier in her life she attended the Church of Christ. She enjoyed canning, flea markets and making candy. She adored her family. Ann had many friends because she lived life with kindness, through hardships with grace, and loved whole heartedly.
Her survivors include two daughters, Shirley L. Apker and Vickey L. Bardo (Gary), all of Jersey Shore; three grandchildren, Laurie, Dwayne and Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Elaine Hanna (Les) and a brother, Lewis Pletcher (Bobby), all of Florida. She was predeceased by one son, William A. Winters in June of 2009.
In keeping with Ann's wishes, her Life Celebration services will be held for her immediate family at noon Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Family visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and interment will be private. Her family suggests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
