One hundred years ago our 30th president, Calvin Coolidge, said "A sound and wise statesmanship which recognizes and attempts to abide by [the Constitution's] limitations will undoubtedly find itself displaced by that type of public official who promises much, talks much, legislates much, expends much, but accomplishes little."
We as a nation are losing our freedom. Instead of the government doing the bidding of the people, we are becoming subjects of our government. Our states are under attack for trying to govern, under the law, but are ignored or even sued by the government. Small businesses are encumbered by frivolous rules and regulations so they have to slim down just to survive.
Large donors are exempt from a litany of new regulations and state and federal workers with unions or federal protection have health and retirement plans that are causing some cities to go into bankruptcy.
Our President believes in leveling out, taking part of what we work hard for, for those who are needy. Yet, in four years, he's done very little to create jobs. Instead, he spends a copious amount of time with the Hollywood elite and talk show hosts. He seems to look at the United States of America as his private playground with benefits most of us can only imagine.
The burden he has imposed on our country is stifling and another step toward socialism.
We need a change!
