Mr. Miller wrote in "Good and Bad' he could not remember what ACORN stood for except that it was corrupt and tainted the election with voter fraud. Well, ACORN is short for Association of Community Organizations of Reform Now. They worked with low and moderate income families to work for neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing and other social issues. What finally was their undoing was voter registration and the accusation that they promoted fraudulent voting causing John McCain to lose against Barack Obama. Even though the courts cleared ACORN of wrongdoing, the damage was done and the nationally organization filed bankruptcy and closed it's door.
Enter voter photo ID laws. These laws in various states were to address the voter fraud supposedly perpetuated by ACORN. Even with the voter photo ID laws in place, voting fraud is happening. Stuffing the ballot box with fraudulent absentee ballots, buying votes, filling out absentee ballots of incapacitated elderly home residents. The new laws don't prevent fraud and that is the problem.
