South Williamsport blanked St. John Nuemann, 7-0. Kelcey Coppola socred a goal and added two assists in the win for the Mounties.
Brittany Snyder scored four goals for Hughesville as the Spartans shut out Shamokin, 4-0. Melanie Santo and Carly Shaner each had an assist for Hughesville.
In college field hockey, Mansfield junior Taryn Schawillie scored her 43rd career goal to tie Gretchen Reschke for the school's all-time scoring mark, but the Mounties fell on the road at Slippery Rock, 2-1.
In men's soccer, Lock Haven's Trent Burris scored in the 12th minute and the Bald Eagles shut out Pitt-Johnstown, 1-0.
Lycoming fell to No. 3 Messiah, 6-0. The Warriors became the first Commonwealth Conference team this season to hold Messiah scoreless in the first half.
Penn College junior Christopher Brennan was named the USCAA and PSUAC player of the week. In the Wildcats' only game of the week, Brennan scored a seasonhigh four goals and added an assist to lead the team to a 6-1 win over Penn State New Kensington.
In college volleyball, Lycoming defeated Lebanon Valley, 3-1 (25-9, 22-25, 25-22, 25-20), for the first time since 2003 and moved into position to clinch its second consecutive Commonwealth Conference playoff spot.
The Warriors (19-6 overall, 4-4 Commonwealth) moved into a tie for fifth place in the conference with Lebanon Valley (17-13 overall, 4-4 Commonwealth), but with the head-to-head win, the Warriors hold the tiebreaker with one conference match left, against Arcadia at Lamade Gym, needing to win to clinch a playoff slot.
