A city man has been arrested for using a stolen credit card four times at Sheetz, 105 Maynard St., on Oct. 2, city police said.
Donovan S. Peterson, 21, of 413 Louisa St., is accused of using a credit card owned by Chris Cooley, who reported that the card was in his wallet, which was stolen from his vehicle while it was parked outside his home at 1320 Locust St. overnight Oct. 1.
Within hours after the wallet was stolen, Cooley determined that someone had used the credit card four times at Sheetz, police said. From reviewing store video, police were able to identify Peterson as the customer who had used the card.
Peterson, seen walking later that afternoon in the 500 block of West Fourth Street, was taken into custody without incident on an unrelated bench warrant.
Following his arraignment eight days later before District Judge James Carn on charges of felony forgery and access device fraud, Peterson was recommitted in lieu of $8,500 bail.
