Ronald John Dowling Sr., 68, of Port Clinton, Ohio, and formerly of Blossburg, Pa., passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at his residence. Ronald was born on July 8, 1944, in Blossburg, Pa., the son of Frank and Betty (Dowling) Baker. On Jan. 14, 1967, in Blossburg, Pa., he married Judy Weller and she survives. Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a supervisor for the J. P. Ward Manufacturing Co. in Blossburg, Pa., for 35 years until his retirement in 2009. Ron was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. He loved trout fishing with his grandsons. Ron enjoyed antique cars and World War II reenactments with his son.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Dowling of Port Clinton; son, Ronald Dowling Jr. of Port Clinton; grandsons, Thomas and Gavin Dowling; brother, Frank Baker of Mainesburg, Pa.; sisters, Roseann Kelly of Denton, Md., Barbara Griswald of Morris Run, Pa., and Wendy Barnes of Mansfield, Pa.; and many loving nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Thomas and Joseph Baker.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Wellsboro, Pa. Interment will be in Tioga County Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Mansfield, Pa. Memorial donations in memory of Ronald may be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
