Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Pennsylvania College of Technology student from New Providence faces charges after college police discovered marijuana and seven stolen GPS units in his dorm room, according to court records filed at the office of District Judge James Carn.

Chase Michael Thomas, 18, was charged with seven counts of receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia as a result of the GPS units being discovered in his dorm on Aug. 27, Penn College police said.

In a second complaint, Penn College police also have charged Thomas with theft and another count of receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing student Jerold Smith's flat-screen television and video game equipment from another dorm room where they were being stored in late August.

Following his arraignment last week before Carn on the two sets of charges, Thomas was released on $27,000 bail.
