SOUTH RENOVO - A man who neighbors describe as "sweet, quiet and likeable" allegedly shot his 25-year-old son-in-law dead Monday evening in what police say was a family dispute at a home on Clinton Ave.
Robert D. Bittner Jr., 25, whose address is listed as Lewisberry south of Camp Hill, died after allegedly being shot by his father-in-law, Eugene Pizzino, 67, of Renovo, according to state police at Lamar.
Pizzino allegedly got involved in a domestic dispute between his daughter, who police would not identify, and Bittner.
A brief state police report on the fatal shooting stated, "the actor (Pizzino), the father of (Bittner's) wife, became involved and shot the victim. The victim later died at the Bucktail Medical Center."
As of Thursday, no charges had been filed in the case as the investigation continues.
