Mansfield University celebrates homecoming

MANSFIELD - Alumni, family and friends returned to Mansfield University to celebrate Homecoming 2012 on Oct. 12 to 14. This year's theme was "Red & Black Superheroes."

Lou-Willa Dupree was named Homecoming Queen and Joshua Pollitt was named Homecoming King.

The royal couple was crowned by MU Interim President Allan Golden during halftime ceremonies of the Mountaineers football game against Post University on Oct. 13.

Dupree is a senior from Philadelphia. She represented the Black Students Union in the campuswide voting. Dupree was escorted by Dontae Williams.

Pollitt is senior from Hazleton. He represented the Student Government Association. Pollitt was escorted by Makayla Smith.

Earlier in the day, the annual homecoming parade made its way up Main Street to the delight of a big crowd lining both sides of the street.

On Oct. 12, the Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame welcomed four new members during inductions ceremonies at Manser Hall: John Soprano, Class of 1968, football; Lynelle Mosle, Class of 2004, basketball; Jessica Ricker Czako, Class of 2003, softball; and Michael Collier, Class of 1982, baseball.
