David A. Harvey, 93, of 1901 Warrensville Road, died on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Valley View Nursing Center. His wife, the former Phyllis J. Koons, died on March 17, 2005.
David was born on May 26, 1919, in Williamsport and was the son of Roy M. and Laura Blumley Harvey.
He was a graduate of Williamsport High School and retired from Sylvania in Montoursville as a machinist after 30 years. David was a member of the former Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, farming, horses and most of all his family.
David is survived by three sons, John (Wanda) Harvey, Phillip (Susan) Harvey, Stephen (Debra) Harvey all of Williamsport; a brother, Roy Harvey, Kentucky; four great-grandchildren, Brenda Lorson, Nathan Harvey, Andrew Harvey, Natalie Tubach and five grandchildren, Joseph Lorson, Grace Lorson, Jacob Lorson, Hayden Harvey, Hunter Harvey. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Harvey.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1101 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, with the Reverend Ron Shellhammer officiating. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 21, 2012.
Family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, Pa., or to Susquehanna Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, Pa.
