Barbara E. Smith, formerly known as Barbara Mummaw, 68, of Picture Rocks, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Manor Care South.
Born July 20, 1944, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Charles I. Smith, who died Dec. 29, 1944, in the Philippine Islands, a casualty of World War II, and Cora Mae McClain Smith.
Barb was a member of the Picture Rocks Fire Department and the Picture Rocks Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan L. Sawyer and Kelly L. Snyder; a son, Thomas J. Mummaw; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Gail R. Akers.
In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her father, who raised her, F. Thomas Akers and a sister, Ann Akers-Tawney.
A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Picture Rocks Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronald M. Turner officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to the Jessica A. Hicks Foundation, P.O. Box 330, Picture Rocks, PA 17762.
