A South Williamsport man has been arrested on charges of allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend at her Armstrong Township home, according to state Trooper Adam Kirk.
Lonnie Ray Gainer Jar., 29, of 342 Percy St. went to Arena Miracle's home at 633 Route 15 about 4 a.m. on Sunday and "threw the woman to the ground, pinned her and banged her head several times on concrete," Kirk said in an affidavit.
Gainer then fled the scene in his car with the couple's child, Irk said. The trooper racked down Gainer a short time later at his home and took him into custody on charges of Irving under the influence of intoxicants and simple assault. Following his arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, he was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $7,500 bail. No information was provided on the status of the child.
