A New York-native received his first senior pastorate earlier this year in Montoursville.
Owen White, who at a young age moved to Lancaster County, was installed as the pastor at Twin Hills Church of the Nazarene in Montoursville on June 17.
He is pursuing ordination in the Church of the Nazarene and he expects to be ordained at the upcoming District Assembly in the spring of 2013.
White was granted a local minister's license and preached his first sermon at 16. After high school, he received his bachelor's degree in religion from Eastern Nazarene College in 2006.
To get to know his community and neighborhood, the church will host a Fall Harvest Party today from 4 to 7 p.m., a free event with activities for all ages. The activities will include pumpkin decorating, hay rides, a bounce house, a bonfire and a cookout.
Sunday School is held at 9:15 a.m. and worship is at 10:15 a.m. Worship and prayer is held on Wednesdays at 7 p.m.
