Lycoming middle linebacker Kabongo Bukasa was named the MAC's Defensive Player of the Week for the second time in his career Sunday. Bukasa led a Warriors defense which forced seven turnovers in a 28-23 loss to No. 14 Widener on Saturday. The Sharon Hill native posted nine tackles, forced a fumble and made two interceptions as the Warriors limited a Pride offense that was averaging an NCAA-best 59 points per game. Bukasa leads the Warriors with 59 total tackles this season. He is the second Warrior to earn Defensive Player of the Week honors, joining Nate Oropollo who earned the award on Sept. 9 and Oct. 7.
Taryn Boucher scored the lone goal of the game in the 83rd minute as Bucknell beat Lafayette, 1-0, in women's soccer. The Bison outshot Lafayette, 7-6, and Sandita McDermott had seven saves to make the lead stand.
Lock Haven scored a pair of first-half goals, and Kelly Harsh finished with a pair of goals as the Bald Eagles beat Saint Louis in college field hockey, 3-0. Nikki Weaknecht scored a goal and an assist and Nakira Downes had two assists for Lock Haven.
Kelly Hebert recorded four kills and five blocks as Penn College clinched the second seed in the PSUAC playoffs with a 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 25-10) win over Penn State Hazleton in women's college volleyball. Rachel Heller had 10 digs and two aces for the Wildcats.
The Penn College tennis team took first place at the PSUAC championships, topping PSU?Brandywine, 69-67. Adam Smith won men's second singles, and Jordan Rodgers took the third flight title.
