Laurel Health System will hold public flu shot clinics throughout Tioga County during October.
Vaccinations may be purchased for a fee; cash and Medicare Part B are accepted.

Breast health is topic of doctor talk
SELINSGROVE - Women of all ages may attend Evangelical Community Hospital's Talk with The Doc series discussion on breast health at 6:30 tonight at the Susquehanna Valley Mall.
The program will be presented by Dr. John Turner, medical director of the Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health.
Turner will discuss how often women should get a mammogram, why annual mammograms starting at 40 should be the standard and why breast care should be a priority for good health. He also will address breast density and how modern screenings can work with different types of breasts, as well as lymph node dissection and removal.
He also will answer questions and concerns following the program.

Tour an OB unit in area hospital
WELLSBORO - A free Expectant Parents class titled "Labor & Delivery" will meet at 7 tonight in the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital board room. A tour of the OB unit will be given.
The class is part of a cycle of classes addressing common questions and concerns of expectant parents, but participants may join at any time during the cycle. Walk-ins are welcome.

Free bereavement group meets this week
WELLSBORO - Laurel Home Health/Hospice will hold a free support group for the bereaved of the community from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital. The location will be posted in the first-floor lobby.
The facilitator for the group meetings will be Nicole Butters. The ongoing support group meets regularly on the fourth Wednesday of every month.

Evangelical offers flu, pneumonia vaccinations
Evangelical Community Hospital is offering several public flu and pneumonia vaccination clinics. Fees apply.
Vaccinations are available to individuals 3 years of age and older at the community clinics. Bring insurance cards to the clinic.

Dance to raise funds for breast cancer services
NORTHUMBERLAND - Evangelical Community Hospital and 94KX, of Sunbury Broadcasting Corp., will hold a '80s and '90s Dance Party from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday at the Front Street Station. Entry is $5 at the door and all of the proceeds support the hospital's Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health.
Guests may sport their favorite '80s or '90s look, wear a Halloween costume, or dress in pink. The most creative attire will be eligible for prizes.
The evening will feature Drew Kelly, of 94KX's morning show, as host and DJ Darren, of 94KX, will spin hits from the '80s and '90s.
The Center for Breast Health supports women in the Susquehanna Valley through mammography screenings and encouraging women to make breast health a priority by scheduling a yearly mammogram at age 40 and older. The center also provides genetic screening, consultations, breast cancer risk assessment and management, bone density testing and more.
Through a grant from Komen Foundation and the Degenstein Foundation the Center is able to offer mammograms to uninsured and underinsured women regardless of their ability to pay.

Neonatal resuscitation class offered
WELLSBORO - Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital will hold a neonatal resuscitation course from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 30 in the hospital board room. It is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association's international guidelines for "Emergency Cardiovascular Care of the Newborn."
