Florence M. Bennett, 87, of Williamsport, died on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at her residence.
Florence was born on Dec. 5, 1924, in the District of James Mountain, Parish of St. Catherine, Jamaica. She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Alice (Taylor) Bennett.
She had worked at a number of institutions as a CNA and retired in the 1990s. She had attended the Williamsport Assembly of God and enjoyed cooking, baking and art.

Florence is survived by three daughters, N. Elaine Zimnick and her husband Jon of Williamsport and Monica "Precious" Barns and Alinta "Hazel" McFee, both of East Orange, N.J.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Emmanuel "Manny or Benny" Bennett of Tallahassee, Fla.; and two sisters, Violet Morris of West Palm Beach, Fla., and May Morgan of Sunrise, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Zephaniah Bennett and Boise Grant; and one sister, Lovina French.
There will be a public viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at the Williamsport Assembly of God, corner of Sheridan and Sherman Streets, Williamsport, with the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Joseph T. Beadle will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
