MANSFIELD - John W. Howell, 43, of 353 Barrett Road, Gillett, an instructor at the rock climbing wall at Mansfield University's Kelchner Fitness Center, was charged by university police with harassing three female students between Aug. 28 and Sept. 28.
According to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office, Howell's alleged harassment included grabbing one woman by her book bag and bra strap and telling her he could sell her to a brothel and watch her get raped.
In addition, he allegedly told one of the women he knew how to kill someone without anyone knowing and allegedly harassed the others with threatening and obscene language, showed one graphic drawings and claimed he had raped his ex-wife.
He was issued a summons to appear at a Nov. 14 preliminary hearing.
