Mr. and Mrs. Grover "Sonny" A. Updegraff, Williamsport, observed their 55th wedding anniversary Oct. 27, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Frank W. Ake at Pine Street Methodist Church. Mrs. Updegraff is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Updegraff, the former Mary S. Chapman, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Mazie and Robert N. Chapman. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1955. She was employed by Williamsport National Bank as a clerk and secretary; Sylvania, Montoursville; GTE Sylvania, Halls Station; and retired in 1995 from Osram Sylvania.

Mr. Updegraff, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Gertrude and Grover W. Updegraff. He attended Williamsport and South Williamsport High Schools. He served in the Navy from 1954 to 1958 aboard the USS Newport News (CA148). He was employed by A&P as a clerk; self-employed in heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and retired in 1990 from Stroehmann Bakeries.
They are the parents of a daughter, Susan Boyer, Sierra Vista, Ariz., and two sons, Mike G. and John N., both of Williamsport.
There are six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
