Announcement has been made of the engagement of Courtney Michelle Smith and David Benjamin Longnecker, both of St. Charles, Mo.
A Jan. 5 wedding at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Defiance, Mo., is being planned.
Smith is the daughter of Patricia and Roy Smith, St. Charles. She graduated from Washington School, Greenville, Miss., in 2008 and received a bachelor's degree in English from Lindenwood University, St. Charles, this year. She is a photographer and owner of Courtney Smith Photography, St. Charles.

Longnecker is the son of Debbie and Tim Longnecker, Jersey Shore. He graduated from Walnut Street Christian School, Avis, in 2000.
