Carol E. "Cookie" Young, 67 of Church Street, McEwensville, died Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Watsontown Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Lewisburg on Aug. 12, 1945, she was the daughter of William A. and Marie (Gold) Bower. She was married to James C. Young; their 10 year anniversary would have been Nov. 23.
Cookie was a stay at home mom for many years and had worked for Callenberger Construction, Kramm Healthcare Center in Milton and was a CNA with Geisinger working in their Recovery Room.
She deeply loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Lisa and Brian Stackhouse of Turbotville, and Cindy and Todd Eurich of McEwensville; a son, Tim Hartzell of Turbotville; three grandchildren, Tara, Kara and Lauren; a brother, Dick Bower of Washingtonville; and two sisters Lois Kirby of Fort Mills, S.C. and Luella Cyphers of Milton.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Bower and two sisters, Betty Strouse and Virginia Derr.
Friends and relatives will be received on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul A. Smith, and the Rev. Elizabeth Affsprung. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
