Attempted theft alleged of woman

October 26, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

A Trout Run area woman has been charged with attempted theft for trying to withdraw money from her M&T Bank account after depositing two empty envelopes at an ATM, city police alleged in court papers.

Ashley Nicole Giacomi, 24, of 1822 Southard Road, went to the M&T Bank branch office at 2001 W. Fourth St. on June 14 and submitted the empty envelopes to her account, but she recorded that each deposit was $1,000.

On the same day, she then went to the M&T Bank branch office on River Avenue in Loyalsock Township and attempted to withdraw $400 and $100, police said. She did not get money either time, police said.

Following her arraignment last week before District Judge James Carn, Giacomi was released on $12,500 bail.
