Man accused of jewelry theft

October 26, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Micah Richard Hepler, 31, of 408 E. Central Ave., South Williamsport, has been charged with theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing two pairs of gold hand-crafted earrings from his mother's home at 6194 Pleasant Valley Road in Eldred Township on July 2, state police said.

The mother, Kimberly Ruth Barr, was able to recover the earrings at a pawnshop, whose owner had purchased them from Hepler.

Following his arraignment before District Judge Gary A. Whiteman, Hepler was initially committed to the Lycoming County Prison, but he has since been released on $100,000 bail.

Hepler has already been implicated by city police in allegedly stealing copper and piping from Barr's Construction, 1115 Almond St., on Oct. 10.
