WELLSBORO - A man and woman who moved out of a rental apartment here were charged with skipping out on the rent and taking items from the apartment that didn't belong to them, according to documents filed at District Judge Rob Repard's office recently.
Melissa M. Swain, 33, and Chad M. Orvek, 40, both of 320 Williams Road, Tioga, were charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief by borough police Oct. 2.
According to police, the pair moved out of 23 West Ave. owing $500 in rent to landlord John Albrecht and took with them a television, receiver box and bedding belonging to Albrecht. Each was issued a summons for a Nov. 13 preliminary hearing.
