Sara J. (Andrews) Porter, 70, of Williamsport, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at her residence.
She was born in Williamsport on June 3, 1942, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Rebecca (Brown) Andrews.
Sara was married on June 7, 1963, to Vernon H. Porter; they celebrated 49 years of marriage together.

She worked at Williamsport Hospital as a food service worker for 34 years retiring in 2005.
She was a member of the East Williamsport Congregation of the Kingdom Hall. She has been one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1974.
Surviving are her loving husband and three daughters, Karen M. Porter of McLean, Va., Melissa L. (Hubert) James of Holly Hill, Fla., and Holly (Patrick) Harris of Marietta, Ga.; also five granddaughters, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Jacob E. (Tanh) Andrews of McElhattan; two sisters, Caroline R. Fisher and Kathleen M. Elliot, both of Williamsport.
Also a host of nieces and nephews survive. Four sisters, Gail Day, Clarice Lovell, Charlotte and Kennetta Andrews, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall, 733 Cemetery Road, Williamsport, with Elder David Halderman officiating.
Interment will be private at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery.
