Due to weather complications caused by Hurricane Sandy, tonight's panel between state Rep. Rick Mirabito and his challenger, Harry Rogers, has been canceled.
"We regret having to cancel the event," said Sun-Gazette Publisher Bernard A. Oravec. "But the hurricane poses unprecedented dangers for residents and we couldn't, in good conscience, risk any problems due to our forum.
"We thank the candidates for agreeing to the forum, the organizations that helped us sponsor it and the Community Theatre League for providing the facility," he added.
The Sun-Gazette plans complete pre-election coverage to inform readers regarding the race for the state Assembly seat as well as the other important election races, Oravec said.
