Inmate accused of perjury

November 1, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Lycoming County Prison inmate Larry Darnell Travers is charged with felony perjury and false swearing for allegedly making inconsistent statements under oath before county Judge Nancy Butts.

Travers, 24, of 1049 Memorial Ave., pleaded guilty in mid-April to attempted homicide in the stabbing of Kevin Houseknecht on June 17, 2011, during a drug sale in the 1900 block of Glynn Avenue.

During the proceedings, Travers admitted, under oath, to the stabbing. However, this year he withdrew the guilty plea, telling Butts, again under oath, "I'm innocent. My fingerprints were not on the knife."

He was arraigned Monday by District Judge Allen P. Page III and recommitted in lieu of an additional $15,000 bail.
