Doris R. Allison-Poole

Doris R. Allison-Poole, 73, of 128 W. Mountain Ave., died on Oct. 31, 2012, at her residence. She was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Millville, the daughter of Cecil and Helen Rhone Watts.

She was an efficient, caring and productive secretary for Lycoming Construction, Williamsport Plumbing & Heating, Ericson Construction, Allison Inc., and West Branch Petroleum Equipment Co. She was a member of Zafar Grotto and also did various volunteer work. Doris had enjoyed fishing and was very proud of her I.W.F.A. World Record for Blue Fin Tuna 80lb class, which she was awarded in September 1969 off of Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Doris is preceded by her parents and stepfather, William Avery Sr.; first husband, Herbert "Herb" L. Allison; second husband, Ernest "Ernie" Poole; brother, Clyde S. Watts; stepbrothers, Ray Avery and William Avery Jr.; and a stepson, Herbert F. "Bert" Allison.

Surviving are stepchildren, Lawrence S. Allison Sr., Patricia (Robert) Landis and Tammy Fullmer; a stepbrother, Robert Avery; stepsisters, Marie Reynolds, Darlene Sellers and Shirley Farlow; stepgrandchildren, Tiffany J. Allison, Larry S. Allison Jr., Mark and Kyle Fullmer, Jason, Justin and Nathan Landis; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

At Doris's request there will be no services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Doris Watts Poole Scholarship Fund for Millville High School students going to Penn College, c/o First Community Foundation of Pennsylvania, 330 Pine St., Williamsport, PA 17701.

Arrangements are being handled by Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
