MANSFIELD - A bench warrant was issued for Seth C. Rodriguez, 28, of 188 White Road, Millerton, after he failed to appear at a preliminary hearing Tuesday, according to documents filed at District Judge James Carlson's office.

Rodriguez was charged by borough police with driving under the influence of intoxicants, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a firearm, and selling weapons following a traffic stop at Laurel Lanes, 306 S. Main St.

Having previously been convicted of burglary, he was not to possess a weapon and he had a Mossburg .22 rifle with a black assault style stock and a switchblade knife, plus five plastic syringes, diazepam in his system, and six tablets of the drug plus 35 tablets of alparazolam, police said.

He also had a metal spoon on the seat of his car in plain view. Rodriguez didn't show up for a preliminary hearing Tuesday and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to appear.
