Behind Allie Christian's goal in the 13th minute, Abington Heights defeated Williamsport, 1-0, in the District 2-4 Class AAA soccer semifinals Thursday at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
The lone goal held up as the Comets held off an aggressive Williamsport team in the second half.
"We dominated for the last 10 minutes of the first half and for all 40 minutes of the second half," said Williamsport head coach Scott McNeil. "We had them on their heels."
With the win Abington Heights advances to play Wallenpaupack on Saturday at an undecided location.
"The other coach was shell-shocked," McNeil said. "He thought we should have put in at least one or two goals."
