Guy Kenneth McCloskey

Guy Kenneth McCloskey, 84, of 1925 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at his home following a brief illness.

Guy and his wife, the former Betty Ferensic, celebrated their 59th anniversary on April 25.

Guy graduated from Cherry Tree High School, retired from the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He received the Purple Heart medal for his service. Guy was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Korean War Veterans, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7863, DuBoistown.

Born Jan. 22, 1928, in Cherry Tree, he was the son of the late Arthur and Velma Poorman McCloskey.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Patricia Ann (William) Kast of Cogan Station; granddaughter, Latasha Corrine Kast of Pittsburgh; and four brothers, Donald, Harold, Wayne and Sam.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Twin Hills Memorial Park, with the Rev. David Fishel officiating and military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
