Luella Ann Blackwell, 75, of DuBoistown, passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at her home.
Born May 1, 1937, in Wellsboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lillian Bacon.
Luella spent her life caring for the elderly and devoted much of her time to caring for loved ones close to her. She took great pride in treating her patients with the dignity and respect that they deserved. She attended DuBoistown United Methodist Church and enjoyed shopping for a bargain, yard sales and crocheting. She was a loving mother to her children.
Surviving are her daughter, Diana Hoffman of Scranton; son, Mark (Jodi) of Lititz; granddaughters, Meghan and Kaitie; and great-grandson, Edmund. She is also survived by her loving friend, Ken Ball, who helped to care for her during her illness; brothers, Roy, Dan, Norman "Gene", Lloyd and Raymond; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William, and two sisters, Laura May and Ruth.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sanders Mortuary.
