Daniel P. Hoffer, 44, of Williamsport, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born May 8, 1968, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Richard C. and Louise J. Clark Hoffer. He was preceded in death by his brother, O. William Mendler.
He was a 1989 graduate of Williamsport High School. Danny enjoyed working at the workshop at Hope Enterprises, and he enjoyed volunteering at the Hepburnville Fire Company and Valley View Nursing Center. He loved watching Penn State and listening to Elvis Presley.
Surviving are his siblings, Richard C. Hoffer Jr. of DuBois, Ronald C. Hoffer of Chambersburg, Debra Bower of Frederick, Md., and Scott A. Hoffer of Grayling, Mich.; guardians, C. Robert and Jeanette Lutcher of Williamsport; and his former friend and caregiver, Jean Hoffman, whom he lived with for over 10 years.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Daniel's name may be made to Hope Enterprises Foundation, 2401 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
