Ursula "Carole" (Jarvis) Cassudakis, 75, of Wellsboro, Pa., died on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Samaritan House, Wellsboro, Pa. She was born on Jan. 24, 1937, in Braxton County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Ward Jarvis and Susie Fulks Jarvis.
The Jarvis family relocated to the Stewart, Ohio, area in the 1950s. Carole graduated from Rome Canaan High School, Stewart, Ohio, and later attended both Youngstown University in Youngstown, Ohio, and Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.
Carole managed a dry cleaning business and then later managed a Carpet Store near Dayton, Ohio. Carole then fully retired to devote her full attention to caring for her cherished daughter, Rena Sue Cassudakis. Being home full time also allowed Carole to pursue more of her great passions, furniture restoration, home renovations and holiday decorating. All of which she was extremely talented in. She and her husband were very proud of their wonderful holiday display at 69 Pearl St., Wellsboro, Pa. Carole was also an avid reader. Her Faith and belief in God, was very strong, and a very big part of her life.
Carole is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Leonard N. Cassudakis and their beloved daughter, Rena Sue Cassudakis, both of Wellsboro, Pa.; grandson, Jim (Lydia) Cassudakis; granddaughter, Alayna Cassudakis, Muncie, Ind.; three brothers, James Harlan (Victoria) Jarvis, Everett (Marylou) Jarvis and Glenn (Wanda) Jarvis; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cassudakis, Warren, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her son, James Leonard Cassudakis; sister and brother-in-law, Hubert and Esta Cooper; niece, Charlene Nutter; nephew, Wayne Bartlett; and a brother-in-law, George Cassudakis.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsboro, Pa. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Jarvis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Samaritan House, 3 Morgan Terrace Drive, Wellsboro, Pa., or to a charity of your choice.
