On this very day, the gas companies with the help of federal and state government, should be installing more minor gas lines into every municipality in our state, so we residents could convert from heating oil to natural gas.
We could all contribute to becoming energy efficient, while heating our homes year-round for $1,000 a year instead of the $3,000 to $4,000 a year that many are paying for heating oil, to add wealth to the Middle East countries, who are laughing behind our backs because of our lack of common sense.
Our country uses 19 million barrels of oil every day of the year. This is astronomical and unbelievable, it cannot go on like this forever, and the majority of Americans are being denied the right to help defeat this problem, because of big business and the backing they get from our state an federal governments. To drill for natural gas in Pa. is not a bad thing. To drill for gas and allow it to be sold to other states and countries of the world, instead of being offered to residents of our state is wrong.
Thanks to the lack of reasonable and justifiable decisions being made by our state and country, we are paying $4.00 a gallon for gasoline, as well as the same or more for heating oil long before winter even approaches us. Does the fault lie in the hands of local residents, the gas companies, or is it the lack of proper leadership by state and local governments? We should all be demanding an answer to the question.
