LEWISBURG - The Campus Theatre will present the area's premiere showing of the documentary "Lady of No Fear" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
"Lady of No Fear" explores the life of Aung San Suu Kyi, winner of the 1991 Nobel Peace Prize and Burmese pro-democracy leader who was held under house arrest for nearly 15 years for protesting the country's leadership. She was released in 2010.
"We are excited to be getting one of the first copies of the film, which was produced in Europe two years ago but only officially released in the United States in mid-October," said Jennifer Figueroa, director of International Student Services at Bucknell.

Bucknell has a long-standing history with Burma. The university's first international student was Maung Shaw Loo, a member of the class of 1864, who was also the first Burmese native to study in the United States.
In 1958, the Ambassador from the Union of Burma presented a handcrafted silver bowl honoring the 100 years of friendly relationship between the people of Burma and Bucknell University. Since then, the Burma-Bucknell Bowl award has recognized faculty, staff, students and organizations at the university who have contributed to international and intercultural understanding.
In 1999, Aung San Suu Kyi was chosen as the Bucknell Commencement speaker. Her address was delivered in absentia by Burton Levin, former U.S. Ambassador to Burma while Suu Kyi was under house arrest.
Admission to the documentary is free. The event is held in celebration of International Education Week, sponsored by International Student Services and the Women's Resource Center.
