I have been reading the letters written about the violence in video games. I even looked up the ProCon web site and read what was stated there and may I add both sides of the argument. Interesting statistic, incidents of bullying is up and not just in schools but society as a whole. I also see a link between low education measures and the increase in video gaming usage. More time spent gaming and not enough time studying.
I do agree not all video games are the same. However there are video games that are based on a violent subject matter and actions. The graphics on the newest games are amazing, very realistic. In my opinion too real. You can even construct your own world and alter your image. You become the coach, the platoon leader, the hero.
The argument being made by gamers is that human aggression is spent on the game. I have to wonder how much video games alter perceptions of reality as they have to games.
