Lycoming College alumnus aids in superstorm relief

November 10, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Items can still be donated today before they will be distributed to assist in emergency relief efforts for people affected in New Jersey.

Nikkie Caucino, a Lycoming College alumnus, originally from Toms River, N.J., organized a local supply drop off at two Williamsport locations.

The locations are at the Williamsport Red Cross, 320 E. Third St., and Novitas Solutions Inc., formerly Highmark/Blue Cross, on the corner of Williams Street and Church Street.

"The amazing residents (of Williamsport) have offered to help me fill a trailer with supplies to bring to the crippled shore," Caucino, currently a zone operations specialist at Subaru of America, Columbia, Md. said in a press release. "My friends and family need our help and I'm calling on you to help me bring critical donations to them."

The items she looks to collect include: cleaning supplies, nonperishable food, baby diapers, baby wipes, clothes, toiletries, bottled water, medical supplies, warm blankets, sleeping bag and Halloween candy.

"These kids missed Halloween and that's a tragedy unto itself for them," Caucino said.
