Albert N. Alexander

Albert N. Alexander, 81, of 1220 Woodmont Ave., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center Emergency Room after being stricken at home.

Born Feb. 23, 1931, in Syracuse, N.Y., he received his bachelor's of science degree and master's degree in economics from Syracuse University.

Albert had worked for the Department of Commerce, Export Import Bank, Department of State, was a U.S. commercial attache in Beirut Lebanon and was a U.S. representative for GATT in Switzerland and OECD in Paris. He also was an adjunct professor at Lycoming College and the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, the former Susan Pokress; sons, David of Chapel Hill, N.C., Jonathan of Bethesda, Md. and Philip of Potomac, Md.; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in Washington, D.C.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the First Church of Christ Disciples, 1250 Almond St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
