Elizabeth "Liz" De Sousa, 51, of Tinton Falls, N.J., passed away with her family at her side on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the Gatehouse, Williamsport, Pa.
Born March 9, 1961, in St. Denis, France, she was a daughter of Ana M. and Joaquim F. De Sousa. Liz was raised in the Bronx and Astoria, N.Y.
Liz is survived by her mother, Ana; a twin sister, Josiane "Josie" De Sousa (Shailesh "Shea" Patel) of Loyalsock Township, Pa.; a brother, Joaquim "Jack" Desousa (Isabel) of Dayton, Md.; her nephews and nieces, Bryan and Abigail Patel and Nicholas and Amy Desousa.

Liz graduated from W.C. Bryant High School, NYC, 1979, as well as Queensborough Community College, CUNY, 1981. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a love for music, reading and traveling. Many thanks to all our family, friends and co-workers of the Reliance Insurance Company who kept her smiling and spirits up through her valiant struggle with ovarian cancer. Also, sincerest thanks to every individual that provided care to Liz in a medical setting, especially everyone at Susquehanna Health.
Liz was predeceased in death by her father, Joaquim.
A Celebration of Liz's Life was held on Oct. 27, 2012, at the Church of Saint Anselm, Tinton Falls, N.J. Memorial contributions in Liz's honor may be made to the Gatehouse Hospice, the Cancer Treatment Center, both located at Divine Providence Hospital, Williamsport, or to the American Cancer Society.
