The big election is over and now is the time to say thank you to the women and men who tirelessly worked at all the polling stations. Working what would be called a double shift. It is time to say thank you to the people willing to exercise their civic duty in our democratic process and cast their vote.
It is impossible to comprehend how people are still waiting in line to cast their vote for hours considering the advances we have made in technology and rendering service. Think of this voters may have waited up to 8 hours in some parts of the country by some reports but the workers at those polling stations will be working a full day, 24 hours.
While we have been arguing about the merits of voter photo ID laws we have not been addressing the inadequate process and procedures of voting in the greatest nation of the democratic process. That discussion is long overdue.
