Students of the month

Ryan Huling

JERSEY SHORE - The Jersey Shore Lions Club's Citizen of the Month for November is Ryan Michael Huling, son of Steve and Becky Huling, of Jersey Shore.

Huling's activities at Jersey Shore Area High School include football, Model U.N., Prom Committee, Outdoor Club, golf, basketball, Pep Club, Relay For Life, Spanish, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and baseball.

Huling serves as vice president of National Honor Society. He also serves his congregation as Acolyte, lector and chalice bearer.

Huling has earned two varsity letters in golf, one varsity letter in football and three varsity letters in baseball. He was selected as an academic All-star for the Heartland Athletic Conference.

Outside of school, he enjoys hunting, snowboarding and working on cars.

After graduation, he plans to attend college to major in civil engineering.

Samantha Boerner

JERSEY SHORE - The Business and Professional Women's Club Girl of the Month for November is Samantha Lynn Boerner, daughter of Tracy Hall, of Jersey Shore.

A student at Jersey Shore Area High School, Hall is active in Prom Committee, Paw Print, National Art Honor Society, National Honor Society, Upward Bound, Relay For Life, Class Committee, Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish Club.

Hall has served as both secretary and treasurer of FBLA over the past three years. She is also treasurer of National Art Honor Society.

Outside of school, she has worked at All Things Bright and Beautiful through the Bridges to the Future work program. She volunteered with Downtown Lock Haven Inc., the Salvation Army, the Moose Youth Awareness program and as a SWAN volunteer at the Jersey Shore Library, teaching computer skills to senior library patrons.

Hall enjoys reading, crafting, walking and drawing.

After graduation, she plans to attend college to major in health-related sciences or biology and minor in psychology.

Nick Rohm

TURBOTVILLE - Nicholas M. Rohm, son of Robert and Melissa Rohm, Turbotville, was named Turbotville Lions Club's Student of the Month at Warrior Run High School for November.

Rohm is a member of Student Council, Treasurer National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Key Club, French Club and is vice president of Tri-Hi-Y.

He also participates in football and wrestling. He has received District 4 and State PHAC Academic All-Stars, football and wrestling.

Outside of school, he is employed by Weis Markets, Danville.

After graduation he plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy.

Christopher Hartman

TURBOTVILLE - Christopher J. Hartman, son of John and Luci Hartman, was named Outstanding Senior at Warrior Run High School for November.

Hartman is a member of National Honor Society, is vice president of the Class of 2013, and a member of Future Business Leaders of America and Outdoor Club. He also participates in football and is captain of the track and field team. He also is a member of the Warrior Run Bench Press Team.

Outside of school, he participates in 4-H, his church youth group and enjoys hunting.

He has received the following awards: Distinguished Honor Roll; 2012 graduate of Building Leaders of the Susquehanna Valley; PA Heartland Athletic Conference; Academic All-Star (Football and Track); FBLA Regionals, second place in business calculations; second team Offensive Lineman; PA FBLA Region 23 president; "Defensive-Player to Watch"; FBLA State Qualifier; District Qualifier in Track, Discus 2012; Homecoming King; and third place in the BLSV essay contest. He is employed by Hartman Farms.

After graduation he plans to pursue a degree in pharmacy.

Maria Krammes

TURBOTVILLE - Maria A. Krammes, daughter of Mark and Marianne Krammes, was named the Watsontown Lions Club's Student of the Month at Warrior Run High School for November.

In school, she is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, Defender Pride Club, French Club and is president of Spanish Club. She also participates in cross country and track and field.

Outside of school, she volunteers with blood drives and donates blood.

She also has received the cross country Academic All-Star award.

After graduation she plans to pursue a degree in public history at Lock Haven or Shippensburg University.

Students of the month: Warrior Run Middle School

TURBOTVILLE - Warrior Run Middle School recently announced the recipients of the Student of the Month Award for October.

The recipients are chosen by a vote of the middle school faculty and the award is given to the member of each class that have the following qualifications: are courteousness, eager to learn and participate in class, maintains at least a C average, is a good school citizen and a well-rounded individual who shows leadership potential.

The award winners for October are:

Grade 5 - Ethan Bartlow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bartlow.

Grade 6 - Andrew Shively, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Shively.

Grade 7 - Haley Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Miller.

Grade 8 - Taylor Williams, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Williams.
