Mr. and Mrs. L. Earnest Derr Sr., Cogan Station, observed their 55th wedding anniversary Nov. 16, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Cleon Haight at Buchanan Baptist Church, where they are members.
Mrs. Earnest, the former Ruby M. Welch is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Thelma and Myron Welch. She attended Williamsport Area Schools. She retired from Williamsport Area School District as a bus driver.

Mr. Derr, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Allene and L. Earnest Derr. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School. He retired from Lonza Inc. and is employed by Student Transportation of America as a school bus driver.
They are the parents of a daughter, Sandra J. Knipe, Cogan Station, and a son, L. Earnest Jr., Linden.
There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
