Janet C. Schreckengast, 73, of Montoursville, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Valley View Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 21, 1939, in Loganton, she was a daughter of the late Allen E. and Dessie F. (Douty) Lamey. She married Raymond Schreckengast and celebrated 51 years together on June 17.
Janet graduated from Sugar Valley High School and received an elementary education degree from Lock Haven State Teachers College. She worked as a substitute teacher for Loyalsock Township School District. Janet was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, enjoyed music and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, she is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Laura) of Loyalsock Township and Scott (Michelle) of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Grace, Sean, and Jonah; and a sister, Betty (Gene) Harbach of Bedford.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St., Williamsport, with Rev. Sarah V. Hershberger, officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. Burial will be held at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
