Field officers for the state Game Commission's Northcentral region filed the following reports on Nov. 9, according to the agency's website:
Lycoming County Wildlife Conservation Officer Jonathan M. Wyant said many hunters are reporting they are seeing some nice bucks. "I have checked a few of really nice antlered deer taken from state-owned property," he said.
Union County WCO Dirk B. Remensnyder cited numerous waterfowl hunters for shooting past the ending hunting time for the day.
"In addition, I am serving as a field training officer for two WCO cadets from the Ross Leffler School of Conservation."
Lycoming and Union counties Land Management Group Supervisor Thomas M. Smith and his Food and Cover Corps crews just finished the second in-season pheasant release on State Game Lands 193 in Winfield, SGL 201 in Mifflinburg, SGL 252 in Allenwood and SGL 317 in Laurelton. "Pheasant hunters and their dogs should be happy as the birds look and fly great, plus this year there (are) seven stockings," he said. "So far, 3,900 birds have been released from the four previous stockings on SGLs."
Cameron County WCO Wayne A. Hunt is requesting that sportsmen's clubs forgo their practice of distributing corn to be put out by their members. "Supplemental feeding of wildlife is unnecessary and puts healthy animals in close proximity to animals that may be either sick or in distress," he said. "Congregating animals into a specific area will help spread diseases if they are present."
Centre County WCO Dan Murray said two individuals were found guilty of unlawful taking and possession of game or wildlife and disturbance of game or wildlife for stealing a fawn from the wild. "The fawn, which was taken to Centre Wildlife Rehabilitators in Port Matilda, was later released back into the wild," he said. "For their actions, and due to the costly nature of the rehabilitation of wildlife, the defendants were ordered to pay nearly $2,000 in restitution to the rehabber, in addition to the fines and penalties imposed by the Game and Wildlife Code."

Centre County WCO Dan Murray issued several warnings for unsigned hunting licenses, SGL regulations violations, failure to carry a second form of ID while hunting and for failing to sign the federal waterfowl stamp.
