MS Society names city firm Employer of Year

November 18, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Bill Knecht of Crossroads Counseling was awarded the Central PA National MS Society's Employer of the Year 2012 after being nominated by employee Denise Hall for his support in allowing the woman who lives with MS to thrive as a counselor.

Hall said her employer has been supportive of her and her diagnosis of MS, alloweing her to work a flexible schedule to accommodate her fatigue and pain so as not to lose any work time. He has moved her office to the first floor in a central location so the steps are no longer an issue for her.

Hall said her boss accepts her limitations and he's even become informed about MS to better understand what she's going through. He sees past her disability and appreciates the wonderful employee that she is.

He even considers the high cost of insurance and keeps her MS mind when choosing a health plan for the company.

"I couldn't be in a better position with MS and work. The understanding has been a great asset to growing inside," Hall said.
