Margaret "Peggy" Louise Chesnutt, 86, of Lititz, Pa., went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 16 from the Manor at Luther Acres.
Beloved mother and "grammy," she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Clifford Chesnutt after 55 years of marriage. Born in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Joseph I. Smith and Nellie (Wise) Smith.
Peggy lived a full life, she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, a former Meals on Wheels Volunteer and worked for many years as a school secretary for the Manheim Township School District. She was a devoted caregiver for her loving husband in the later years of her life. Peggy enjoyed her grandchildren, her beloved dachshund, Abby and visiting with friends and family.

Peggy is survived by her son, Joseph Chesnutt and his wife, Janice, of Lancaster, Pa., and her grandchildren Caroline and Jesse. She was preceded in death by her brothers Don and "Bud" Smith, as well as sisters Francis Gordon and Maggie Smith.
Her memorial service will be held at Highland Presbyterian Church, 500 E. Roseville Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
