Locally elected and appointed officials voted on the following matters in the past week:
Federal
The House passed the Russia and Moldova Jackson-Vanik Repeal Act of 2012. The legislation will grant Permanent Normal Trade Relations with Russia to grow U.S. exports and secure market access to help create American jobs. Voting yes were U.S. Reps. Thomas A. Marino, R-Cogan Station, and Glenn "GT" Thompson, R-Howard.
State
The Senate and House were in session just two days during the week and passed no major legislation.
County
The Lycoming County Commissioners voted to approve $1 million agreement with the Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority for design and construction of a new airport terminal. Voting yes were Jeff Wheeland, Anthony Mussare and Ernie Larson. Commissioners also approved funding for two vehicles at a cost of $64,840 for the county coroner's office.
Municipal
Montoursville Borough Council voted to adopt a preliminary 2013 budget that includes no real estate tax increase. Voting in favor of the plan were Robert Brobson, Kim DiRocco, Eugene Boyles and Ronald Shearer. Voting no were Mark Tillson and Dennis Holt.
Old Lycoming Township supervisors unanimously adopted a balanced preliminary 2013 budget that includes no tax increase. Voting were John W. Eck, Janet C. Hall and Linda Mazzullo.

Hughesville Borough Council voted to adopt a balance preliminary 2013 budget with no real estate tax increase. Voting in favor were Mary Burns, Richard Smith, Jeffery Berger, Andrew Mook, James Savage and Curtis Michael.
Muncy Township supervisors voted to adopt a preliminary 2013 budget with no real estate tax increase. Voting in favor were Paul Wentzler, Tom Schaech and Greg Gilbert.
Zoning Hearing Board voted 4-0 to deny a request for two zoning variances pertaining to a boarding house. Voting against the request were board members Mary Lou Baldys, Jody Sarett, Linda Crockett and Mary Zeitter.
South Williamsport Borough Council approved a $6.3 million budget for 2013. Voting in favor were Dan Cupp, Anthony Mussare, Robert Cronin, Ed Weinhoffer, Henry Frey Jr., Benjamin Landon, Bernard Schelb, Jeffrey Tompkins and Richard D. Harris Jr.
Loyalsock Township supervisors voted to lift a requirement for parking stalls to be numbered at the Diamond Pointe apartment complex on Northway Road after its management purchased additional land for additional parking spots. Voting in favor were Marc Sortman, Virginia Eaton, Jeff Bower, Rick Wheeland and Jeff Rauff.
School district
Loyalsock Township School Board voted 9-0 to approve Beth Lazorka as a part-time Title I paraprofessional. Voting in favor were board members Edward Ade Jr., Maureen Carey, William Carlucci, Stephen Dewar, David Hornberger, Christina Kiessling, John Raymond, Sheila Yates and Paul Young II.
City Council voted 6-0 on a solid waste management plan with Lycoming County and four other counties. Voting were President Bill Hall, Bonnie Katz, Jonathan Williamson, Don Noviello, Randall J. Allison and N. Clifford "Skip" Smith. Liz Miele was absent.
Montgomery Borough Council voted 6-0 to adopt $464,189 budget for 2013 that includes a 0.5-mill real estate tax increase. Approving were Witlow Wertz, Rodney Metzger, Richard Williams, J.J. Magyar, Don Feaster and James McCarty.
Jersey Shore Borough Council agreed to sell borough property at 1208-1210 Locust St. to Kristopher Aldridge for $129,500. Voting yes were Marguerite Dyroff, Wade Snyder, Deb Colocino and Mary Greene. Sean Simcox, Janet Barnhart and John Pisarcik were absent.
