Slots exposure needed

November 21, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

Your editorial on slot revenue I think needs further exposure. I well remember where the money would go as your editorial says. Several years ago I read that only 50 percent of the revenue was going for the purposes stated. The rest was being spent on the governor's personal desires and supported by our elected representatives.

I suggest you check to see what the percentage is now and then ask for the record of our three congressmen why they are not doing it. I think one or two of them voted for the slots and they could be put on the hot spot, Tyypical government they get unexpected money or a reduction in costs and the first thing they do is not to reduce taxes but spent it on their previously unknown interests.

It makes no difference Republican or Democrats. I think it is human nature otherwise called Parkinson's Second Law. Only competing businesses prevent it and government has no competition..
